13th Armoured Regiment


The Role of Armour in the Australian Defence Force is defined as:

"The co-ordination with other arms, to close with and destroy the enemy forces using fire, manoeuvre and shock action."

The 13th Australian Armoured Regiment was a regiment of the 6th Armoured Brigade, 2nd Armoured Division during the Second World War. It was formed in May 1942 from the 13th Light Horse Regiment and was redesignated the 13th Motor Regiment in March 1943. It was disbanded in October 1943.
