15th Northern River Lancers


The Role of Armour in the Australian Defence Force is defined as:

"The co-ordination with other arms, to close with and destroy the enemy forces using fire, manoeuvre and shock action."

The 15th Northern River Lancers was raised in 1948 as A Sqn, Amphibious Assault Regiment and was based in Northern NSW. In 1956, it was linked with the 1st Royal New South Wales Lancers to become 1st/15th Royal New South Wales Lancers.
