Security Detachment (SECDET) Baghdad


   

 

A security detachment (SECDET) of about 110 personnel including Australian Light Armoured Vehicles (ASLAVs) to provide protection and escort for Australian Government personnel working in our Embassy in Baghdad. Up to 2006, there has been 10 SECDET rotations involving elements from both the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and 2nd/14th Light Horse Regiments.
