On the 1st May, 1966 the 10th Light Horse Regiment conducted a fully mounted formal parade on the Claremont Show Grounds, to mark the presentation and consecration of a new Regimental Guidon. Practice and rehearsals for the presentation were conducted for several months before the event, and on the day, the salute was taken by the then Governor General, Major-General Sir Douglas Kendrew.
